Al
van der Beek grew up playing the violin since 6th grade and continued
through his high school years. Today, Al plays piano and acoustic guitar,
both of which he self-taught.
Al has a strong performance history starting with high school choir and church and then escalating to opening up for the likes of Boyz II Men, LL cool J, Vanilla Ice, PM Dawn, Naughty by Nature during the early 90’s when he was part of an up and coming rap group.
When
not performing his own compositions, Al can be found writing and producing
other aspiring artists out of his private studio - ToyVan
